For many fisherman, the start of trout season is the unofficial start to spring.
With today’s forecast, we can see why!
It should warm up to the 60’s today and make for a great opening day of trout season.
Anglers were making their first cast as early as 6:30 this morning at Bennett Springs and Roaring River State Parks.
Bill Timmsen sent us these photos of the crowd at Roaring River near Cassville.
If you’re headed toward a stream today, remember to pick up trout tags at any state park concession store.
The daily limit for trout is 4 per person and tags are $4 a piece this season.
Trout season runs from now through October 31.
Remember to share your best catch by tagging @MoStateParks and using the hashtag #MOTrout on social media.
