Investigators say a woman admitted to killing a man from Galena then dumping his body in Dade County in recorded jailhouse phone calls.
Sheila Phillips has been charged in the death of Billy Mack Walker in Stone County.
Gerald Hoffman has been charged with tampering with evidence in Walker’s death.
Initially, Hoffman told investigators he shot Walker but changed his statement, saying Phillips came to him to get rid of Walker’s body.
Authorities say in those recorded calls, Phillips said she didn’t want Hoffman taking the blame for Walker’s death.
