(KTTS News) — Construction gets underway next month on Highway 160 in Nixa.
Crews will build a continuous green ‘T” intersection at Highway 160 and Highway AA; a continuous flow intersection at Highway 160 and Highway CC; and rebuild a bridge over the James River.
Work on the $12.4 million dollar project begins next month and should be finished by 2024.
MoDOT will hold a public meeting Tuesday afternoon from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Nixa City Hall.

The public meeting is scheduled for 4:30-6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, at Nixa City Hall, 715 W. Mt. Vernon Street, Nixa. No formal presentation is planned. Those who attend may come at any time between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to learn about the project and ask questions.
Anyone unable to attend the in-person meeting can view the same exhibits at an online public meeting available at www.modot.org/southwest.
Here’s a look at the project:
- Construct a continuous green T intersection at U.S. Route 160 and Christian County Route AA
- Construct a continuous flow intersection at U.S. Route 160 and Christian County Route CC
- U.S. Route 160 bridge rehabilitation over James River Overflow
Traffic Impacts:
- Nighttime lane closings on Route 160 at times
- Narrowed lanes and traffic shifts on Route 160
- Two lanes open on Route 160 in each direction during daytime hours. Traffic congestion expected on Route 160.
- Road Closures on Christian County Routes AA and CC
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
