(KTTS News — Springfield Police Chief Paul Williams says he’s concerned about a recent rise in gun violence.

There have been three fatal shootings in the past week, although shootings are down overall.

He says if people see something suspicious, they need to say something to police.

Chief Williams told Springfield City Council Monday night that because of a staffing shortage, he still needs to hire 60 more officers.
