The City of Ozark Extracts Historic Water Tower

The City of Ozark officially tore down the first of two historic water towers set for extraction in 2020.

In December, the Ozark Board of Alderman approved of a $67,000 contract with Indeqx to remove the two water towers and a standpipe.

The towers have been located east of U.S. Highway 65 near the Dolby Laboratories plant on North 18th Street and on West Tennison Drive behind the Walmart.

These towers are no longer necessary for the operation of the city’s water system.

The Ozark Fire Protection District says there were no issues with the tower’s fall or interruptions to district services.
