Republic High School Holding Drive-Through Graduation In May, Traditional Ceremony In August

Republic High School is holding an unusual graduation because of unusual circumstances.

On May 9, graduates and their families can go to the high school in their cars, drive up to a graduation station with a podium set up in the RHS parking lot.

Those graduating will hear their name over a PA system, plus the school is providing free professional photos.

A traditional ceremony is scheduled for August 1, 2020 at JQH Arena at 1:30 p.m.

A spokesperson for the school says the traditional ceremony is set but not guaranteed, and mentions that many graduates will not be able to walk in August due to new college, military, or work responsibilities.

Baccalaureate and Project Graduation events will still be held, but details are still to be determined.
